News and Branch News Updated
25th June 2009

Each summer the band holds a summer practice week in Swanage, Dorset and this year a group of 4 musicians (Will Morris, Adam Birch, Chris Monk and John Seabrook) are planning to cycle back to Brentwood from Swanage, a trip of 170 miles. We will be travelling with a support car and are planning to do the trip in 3 days, from the 1st to the 3rd of August, with overnight stops at Gosport and Brighton and are going to raise money through sponsorship by friends and family etc, as well as local and national businesses.
If you would like to donate money to the band, contact me on the above email address, or to donate to Help For Heroes, go to:

The Band was originally formed in October 1990 as a bugle band, but became a full chromatic band in November 1992. The Brentwood Branch of The Royal British Legion formally adopted the Band in March 1993.

In 1996, The Band was declared the Supreme National Champions at the Royal Albert Hall. Twelve months later the title was defended and has been retained to this date.

In 2000 the Band became honorary members of the 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division Polar Bear Association and proudly wears the Polar Bear insignia on their uniform.

Although affiliated to The Royal British Legion, the Band derives no financial benefit and is entirely self-supporting. All tuition and support is freely given by instructors on a voluntary basis.
